Bike Trails

Luge (Beginner)
Inspired by CBMR’s own Adaptive Sport Center hand cyclists, Luge is a wider gravity assisted singletrack trail that flows through moderate terrain featuring man made berms and rollers. Downhill recommended. Completion scheduled for August 2009.

Mineral Point (Intermediate)
A great mix of natural terrain, single track and man made obstacles. Look for more features to be added through the summer on this trail. Downhill recommended.

Avery (Expert)
Avery is the Downhill race course for the annual Wildflower Rush. Avery throws a little of everything your way as you descend through pine forest, rock gardens, fast open terrain, and man made jumps. You can also finish this run on the Mountain Cross track. Downhill recommended.

Westside (Expert)
Westside is an epic new piece of single track that will keep you smiling. Flowing trail sections through forests of aspen and pine are the highlight of this ride. This Trail can be ridden in both directions. Many prefer it as an uphill. As a downhill ride, Westside can be accessed from the top of Red Lady Lift to the base area.

Meander (Intermediate)
The name says it all. Meander your way through a beautiful mountain landscape on excellent single track that overlooks the East River valley. Follow Gothic Road back to the base or climb up Prospector to the top of Painter Boy. Great Flowers on Meander!

Horseshoe (Intermediate) Now part of the Westside Trail. Horseshoe skirts along the base of some of Crested Butte’s famous steep terrain and allows you to connect the Westside trail with Meander, Painter Boy and Columbine to make an incredible cross country loop from the base area.

Wood’s Trail (Expert)
A smooth gravity fed trail with a mix of man made obstacles throughout. Ride the top of Luge and then pedal out through the upper section of Painter Boy to access this trail. This is a downhill recommended trail that requires riding Gothic Road back to the base area.

Prospector (Intermediate)
Enjoy over two miles of classic Colorado singletrack that winds through alpine meadows and pine forest. This intermediate singletrack that can be ridden both directions. If ridden from the top of Painter Boy it takes you to Prospect Drive where you can pedal back to the base area or use it to link with Meander or the Snodgrass Trail System.

Columbine (Intermediate)
Can be ridden both directions helping to facilitate the loop experience on Crested Butte Mountain. Wind your way up Columbine Hill through grassy meadows and Aspen forest. From the top of Columbine trail loop around to Prospector or the Westside Trail for a longer ride, or explore one of the many other great options back to the base area.

Painter Boy (Beginner/Intermediate)
This longtime Crested Butte favorite takes you through fields of wildflowers and beautiful stands of aspen trees. A great connector trail, Painter Boy can be accessed by the Red Lady Express via Primer or the Luge Trails.
